Penethamate hydriodide
For the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in cattle caused by Gram positive pathogens susceptible to penethamate.
Parenterally administered Mamyzin® crosses the blood milk barrier achieving therapeutic concentrations of penicillin in milk for 24 hours upon injection. The absorption of penethamate is 8 times faster and 10 times higher than that of benzylpenicillin. An injection of Mamyzin® treats all four quarters reducing the workload and eliminating any risk of contamination as a result of administration.
